Scope
Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management
One of the original 12 schools Das Studio was engaged to design and deliver as part of the DfE Modular Schools Program, Aldinga Beach Primary School was in desperate need of new, contemporary learning environments.
The resulting 1140m2 building includes 8 new General Learning Areas, Serviced Learning Areas, Music Rooms, Amenities, and Outdoor Learning Spaces with a new 500m2 COLA built on the eastern side of the school.
Cranked along light-filled central break-out spaces, the various classrooms provide access to learning environments within and beyond the built form.
Place
Following sustained and projected growth, Aldinga Beach Primary School was provided the opportunity to replace existing aged facilities with new buildings and help establish a stronger presence along Quinliven Road and in the local community.
A landmark building for a growing school community that sets a new benchmark for learning environments in Adelaide’s southern suburbs.
Proposition
A key requirement of the school’s brief was to create spaces that support modern learning and teaching methods, reinforcing stronger connections to the outdoors and embracing the school’s current sustainability vision.
